At Drivetrain, ensuring data quality and consistency at every stage—from data ingestion & validation to reporting & modeling—is of paramount importance.
We view data quality not as the end result but as an ongoing process. With automated checks and timely alerts, we ensure your reports and forecasts are built on clean, accurate data, improving the reliability of your analyses and giving you confidence in every decision.
Learn about Drivetrain's best-in-class data governance framework and how we maintain data quality and consistency across several key areas:
Your business relies on up-to-date information. Drivetrain constantly monitors data to ensure it’s refreshed on time. If data isn’t updated as scheduled, an alert is automatically sent to your team and your onboarding partner so issues can be addressed on priority before they affect your reports.
For example, if your CRM data is scheduled to sync daily but hasn’t updated in two days, Drivetrain will automatically detect this and notify you and your onboarding partner, ensuring your insights are always based on the latest data.
These checks prevent any gaps or delays in your data, giving you the confidence that your reports are always complete and up to date.
We put strong safeguards and validation checks in place to prevent corrupt, incomplete and incorrect data from entering your system.
Drivetrain's built-in data governance tools analyze incoming data to ensure it meets your system’s specific requirements, including:
Checks for data formats and units
Checks for new or missing columns
Checks for sudden changes in data volume
Checks for changes to historical data including values outside expected range
If Drivetrain detects any of the above anomalies, outliers, or inconsistencies, Drivetrain will block the sync. Our "circuit breaker" feature kicks in immediately, notifies your team and your onboarding partner will investigate to address the discrepancies. This way, only clean data makes it into your system.
For instance, if a column meant to contain dollar amounts suddenly shows dates or text, Drivetrain will detect this error. It will stop the data from syncing and trigger an alert to notify your team.
Drivetrain gives you more control by allowing you to set custom alerts for key metrics. If a value crosses a certain threshold, you’ll receive an alert, helping you catch any unexpected data points before they skew your reports.
For example, if your advertising expenses typically range between $50,000 and $80,000 but one month it spikes to $800,000, Drivetrain will flag this so you can investigate whether it's a true outlier or a potential data error.
Human errors can happen, but when they do, Drivetrain makes it easy to track and fix them. With a detailed Changelog, you can quickly identify where and when changes were made, allowing you to go back and correct errors.
For example, if a metric calculation is accidentally modified, Drivetrain not only logs the change, but makes it extremely easy to trace the source of the error, and fix it.
