Drivetrain formulas help you define metrics and build models on Drivetrain.
They combine simplicity with powerful functionality. Drivetrain has plain-English formulas, making them intuitive and easy to learn, closely mirroring common spreadsheet formulas. Despite their simplicity, these formulas offer the flexibility to express complex, multi-dimensional relationships, making them powerful tools for any business scenario.
You can make use of numbers, operators, built-in functions, and use references to metrics to build your formulas.
The Formula Builder is where you can enter these formulas. It's a text box which accepts formulas and it's available in the Metrics page and Models page.
In the Models page, the formula builder enables you to choose from a variety of forecast methods including:
Calculates values for a variable based on the expression input.
Formulas can contain mathematical equations, references to other variable and metrics, logic statements, and functions.
Learn about:
Manually add plan or forecast values to each cell of the variable by selecting the Manual forecast method.
Distributes the input value as per the period selected.
Calculates forecasts by using the line of best fit (linear regression) method
Assign or input the plan values to a variable from a dataset using the Data driven forecast method as follows:
Select the variable.
In the Forecast formula column, select Data driven forecast method.
